Sugar and Teeth: Bacchon Ki Mithai Habit Ka Daant Par Asar

Bacchon ko mithai, chocolate, biscuits, cold drink naturally attract karte hain. Problem sugar khud se kam, aur uske frequency aur mouth me kitna der chipak ke rehne se zyada hoti hai.

Jab sugar mouth me aata hai, bacteria usko acid me convert karte hain. Ye acid enamel ko dheere-dheere dissolve karta hai. Agar bachcha din bhar “grazing” kare – kabhi toffee, kabhi juice, kabhi biscuit – to mouth ka environment acid-attack mode me hi rehta hai. Yahi se cavities ke seeds bante hain.

Sticky, chewy treats (like caramel, toffee, cream biscuits) teeth ki grooves me atak jaate hain. Even juice, flavoured milk, sweetened syrups sippy cup se baar-baar dena risk badha sakta hai. Bedtime se pehle sweet drinks + no brushing = classic recipe for early childhood caries.

Complete ban lagana realistic nahi, lekin rules simple ho sakte hain:

  • Sweets zyada tar meals ke saath, not all-day snacking.
  • Plain water between meals.
  • Raat ko brushing mandatory, parents supervision ke saath.
  • Very young kids ko sugary bottle leke sone ki habit avoid karo.

Respectfully sweets ko demonize bhi mat karo. Balance best hai—occasional treat, clear routine, aur dental check-up regularly. Jo pattern bachpan me set hota hai, wahi adult teeth habits ka base ban jata hai.
